OTTAWA, May 17, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Canadian Steel Producers Association (CSPA), on behalf of its member companies, applauds the Government of Canada for concluding successful negotiations today on the lifting of the US Section 232 tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum products. The removal of these tariffs is very positive news for Canada’s steel producers and their 23,000 direct employees.
“On behalf of the membership of the CSPA, we thank the Government of Canada for its significant efforts on the resolution of the 232 steel tariffs,” said Catherine Cobden, President of the CSPA. “The lifting of the tariffs is the best outcome for our producers, our workers and the highly integrated marketplace between Canada and the US.
