Canadian Steel Producers Association names President and Chief Executive Officer

Ottawa, Ontario, September 14, 2026 – Today, Ron Bedard, Chair of the Canadian Steel Producers Association of Canada (CSPA) Board of Directors announced on behalf of the Executive Committee that Blair Dickerson will assume the role of President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the CSPA effective September 17, 2026. 

“CSPA’s Executive Committee is pleased to formally announce Blair Dickerson as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Steel Producers Association,” commented Bedard, also President and CEO of ArcelorMittal Dofasco. “Blair brings thoughtful leadership and deep experience gleaned in previous assignments in highly regulated sectors. In her roles at Rio Tinto and Domtar she dealt with trade and tariff issues in aluminum and softwood lumber. She has extensive knowledge of government and regulatory affairs at both the provincial and federal level that will benefit the steel industry in Canada.”

An experienced executive that has held senior positions in both the public and private sectors, Dickerson worked in the mining, base metals, and forest products industry with a focus on government and stakeholder relations. At Rio Tinto she was Vice President Canada, and during her time there, she took on acting roles as Vice President for Asia in corporate relations with the Copper and Diamonds business, and then General Manager for Communities and Communications for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. At Vale Base Metals she served as Head of Sustainability and Corporate Relations and most recently at Domtar held the role as Head of Government and Public Affairs in Canada.
